Snettisham - November 2017

06th November 2017
An early start to see the Knot murmurations at Snettisham RSPB reserve.
So up at 5am , not my idea of fun and drive to the reserve in the dark.
I seem to like being in the cold as both these latest outings (see next story) end up with full layered clothing waterproofs etc.
As the sun came up the numbers of birds increased, with many geese flying over, Graylags, Pinkfoot and Brent. Then thousands of Knot joined by Godwits and Oyster Catchers. Under a moon lit morning with a orange glow from the rising sun. What more could you want. We got even more, Grey and Golden Plover and a couple of Egret. So what more could be seen, well at a distance was a hunting Short Eared Owl, just to distance to photography.

That was all before breakfast at 10:00.
